Black Cat HM-01 HA-II OSRAM 100-Lumen LED Flashlight Review

Image
Recently got a black cat torch light with OSRAM 100 lumen led from dx.com. The red color version was a little bit cheaper at USD7.99 compared with the black at USD8.12. The reviews on the site were pretty good. All comments saying that it was really bright (for its size). The only problem mentioned was that it tend to heat up pretty fast. Guess that's why its really bright. Waited patiently for 2 weeks for the torch light to arrive. The black cat! or red? OSRAM led Threads were clean and easy to twist on and off. Opened it up and loaded in a AAA battery right away. Clean threads Nice responsive on/off rubber clicker at the back of the torch. Clicker at the back The light is really bright in the middle with a light ring at short range. Probably has pretty good throw and decent short range flood. It could easily brighten a medium size room. Will need to try it out outdoors next time. Easily lights up a medium size room I love the black cat. The nice

Santa Grand Hotel Bugis Review

Image
Another stay in Singapore and this time decided to try out the Santa Grand Hotel Bugis . The hotel is located about 10-15 minutes walk away from Bugis MRT. The walkway between the MRT station and the hotel is rather dark but then again, its Singapore one of the safest places in the world. Anyway, I was given a room with no window. On first entering the room, I found the room rather large for what I was used to. I guess Santa Grand Bugis was considered a mid range hotel. Queen Sized Bed Just enough space to fit a laptop Kettle for tea or coffee Mineral water replenished everyday The room came with a safe and fridge. Strange enough though, the fridge was stored inside a wardrobe. If you look closely at the picture below, you will see that the fridge doesn't actually fit and is sitting partly on the wardrobe frame. This means that the wardrobe doors doesn't close properly. No biggie, just interesting :) Safe, fridge Ah the bathroom, no funky smells, to

Tune Hotel Waterfront Kuching Review

Image
Had a wedding to attend to and since the lots of relatives were flying in, there wasn't much room at the local relatives house. Thought it might be a good time to try out the Tune Hotel . The location is great. Just a five minute walk away from the water front. There is a 7-11 nearby in case you want to get some snacks or water. At the main lobby there is a desk where you can arrange tours or taxi's to the airport and a small shop selling food and miscellaneous drinks. We got a room on the top floor (4th floor). Unfortunately since the hotel had high occupancy, we got a room without a window. No harm since all we were using the room for was to get a few nights sleep while we were in Kuching . Bed is fantastic. They advertise as having 5 star beds. Well I believe that. I found it very comfortable for its price range. 5 star bed The bathroom had a slight smell, not sure what it was but nothing too annoying. The shower was really nice as it was hot and had strong pres

HopShopGo Review

I was interested in a few books from Amazon and found that if I bought them in used condition I would save even more. One particular book I was interested in was a Psychology book that was priced at $0.75 for a previous edition vs a new edition ($125). As I understand correctly, Amazon is able to ship to Malaysia direct. The problem is that most (if not all) used books do not ship to Malaysia. This is where the dilemma comes in. Should I buy a new book for 125x the used price and get amazon to ship to me directly? or should I use a forwarder? DECIDING ON A FORWARDER Which forwarder to choose? I took a look at the following forwarders: Borderlinx HopShopGo VPost I have used Vpost before while I was staying in Singapore. I believe it was the cheapest at that time. I haven't used Borderlinx but I had to deal with their customer service before when I had problems with my account and it was horrible. Pricing wise they are also the most expensive. Now, HopShopGo was a new

WiiWare: Dr Mario Online Rx

Image
Nintendo Wii has recently released Dr Mario Online Rx on WiiWare. I decided to give it a try, so went to the wiishop and bought 1000 points and downloaded this new WiiWare. After a couple of minutes and 93 blocks later, I started the game. What I found was two games in one. One is the classic Dr Mario and another is called Virus Buster which uses the wiimote as a pointer to move the capsules. The single player and vs mode are just the same as the classic mario. One interesting feature is that you are able to play Dr Mario against the whole world. This is the reason why I downloaded it. I'm not a very big fan of the original game but having online play changes everything. I went online I gave it a try only to have my ass kicked in less than 5 minutes. Well better practice on single player mode though, at least i'll be able to play against and easy computer. The online mode also has a player ranking system. So you can check your skill level vs the whole world. So far i'm ran
